Prior to joining BPC in the summer of 2023, Ned spent almost two decades in New York City, working in various capacities on a multitude of refined residential spaces.
Beginning with cabinetry and furniture projects located in a studio craft tradition, Ned began to develop relationships with a unique cross section of architects and contractors. Work in a shop context gradually gave way to work on job sites, where Ned liaised between builders and millwork shops while otherwise executing all aspects of a project’s carpentry scope. Ultimately, this varied output coalesced in a transition to project management; a role in which managing the totality of a project was advanced alongside the idiosyncratic challenges consistently posed by a Manhattan locale.
Alongside a deep appreciation of both the fine and applied arts, Ned’s love of detail, material and form has also always extended to those areas unseen at a project’s completion; those initial arrangements and subsequent layering that forms the basis and function of all that’s to follow. For Ned, and with regard to the built environment, these ideas find their ultimate expression in the science, systems, and materiality of the high performance building assemblies for which BPC is known- where moments of extreme resolution are often both unmistakable and largely out of view.
Ned holds a BFA from Alfred University, NYSCC, School of Art and Design and is completing his CPHT certification
